Liverpool Told To Bid For £7m Chelsea Star

Liverpool have been told to bid for Petr Cech, by the player’s agent, symbolising the extent to which he is interested in a move elsewhere in the coming transfer windows.

However, the agent has also admitted that Chelsea are unlikely to sell Cech in January, and believes that a summer move for the player would be more successful.

The Reds have been linked with a move for Cech in recent months, and their need for a new goalkeeper has become increasingly pressing.

Brendan Rodgers has completely dropped Simon Mignolet from his starting line up in the last three games, favouring Australian reserve Brad Jones.

However, Jones is unlikely to retain the starting jersey in the long term, and as a result, Liverpool are likely to sign another keeper.

Cech’s agent Viktor Kolar has said that Liverpool should look to Cech as a signing in the summer, given their need to strengthen in between the sticks.

He said: “It’s unlikely Petr will leave Chelsea in the January transfer window. The club and coach want to keep him to help win the title. I think Arsenal should have made an offer to him. I think Petr would be considering it.

“Liverpool need to strengthen their position in goal and they know Petr will be available in the summer.”

Cech is valued at around £7 million by Chelsea.
