Liverpool Boss Rodgers Is A ‘Bad Manager’ – Ex-England Ace

Brendan Rodgers is a bad manager, according to former Manchester City star and England international Rodney Marsh.

The former pro has also declared that the signing of Mario Balotelli, who cost Liverpool £16 million to bring in this summer from AC Milan, is the most embarrassing signing in the history of the Premier League.

Rodgers was exceptional with his management of the Anfield club last season, leading them to a surprise title push, but there was disappointment at the Reds after they finished second in the league, having led the table going into the final few games of the season.

They’ve struggled this year, with Liverpool having won only six games out of 17 since the start of the season.

The table reflects their crisis, with Liverpool marooned in tenth.

They were also knocked out of the Champions League in the group stages.

Marsh has, as a result, declared that Rodgers is a bad manager who is struggling.

He told Talksport: “The manager has lost his way.

“He might be a good coach, but a bad manager.

“The Balotelli signing is one of the most embarrassing signings in the history of the Premier League, and that is down to the manager. He [Balotelli] is a certainty to go in January.

“They [Liverpool] were desperately in need of a target man in the game at the weekend [against Arsenal]. He’s bought Balotelli, who is useless. He’s bought Rickie Lambert and sits him on the bench and plays without a centre-forward.

“And when he does bring one on, he puts on [Fabio] Borini. Are you kidding me? He will never play for Liverpool again.

“He [Borini] looked to me as if he was trying to do something to get sent off. It almost looked like he was doing it on purpose.”

  1. Rodney Marsh, first let me say that you are spot on with your assement of this so called and useless Manager. Also I have been waiting for some of our ex players to come out and say the way they feel about the IMPOSTER, your the first so congratulations. This guy is small in stature and small minded in his signings and team selections. I want him out along with thousands of us true supporters, he really does not know what this club is about.

  2. Rodgers is not a bad manager but he lacks the mental construct for picking proven and tested talent that will lead LFC to the promise land. As a leader who has passed through Championship management of Reading, Watford and Swansea before all of a sudden big Liverpool, he still has the small club mentality that bars him from making marquee signings that would enable the club compete at top level. In the last summer window, he went for quantity instead of quality and that has weakened Liverpool’s performance and intensity. Prior to that, he had signed poor players like Borini, Aspas, Luis Alberto, Assaidi, Ilori etc that are yet to add value to the squad. Left alone, we have players from the academy that are better than those ones. So why not buy a few quality talent and go to the academy for youth players that need development. He should realise that even if you pay 50m GBP for a good player, he can be resold for 80 GBP or more if the player thrives. The clubs who are consistently top like the Manchester clubs, FCB, RMD, Bayern, PSG etc always spend good money on quality players.
