Arsenal Preparing To Beat Spurs To £25m Midfield Maestro – reports

Arsenal are reportedly plotting a bid to sign Morgan Schneiderlin, and hope to pip Tottenham Hotspur to the signing of a long term target in the process.

The Gunners’ bitter rivals Spurs attempted a double transfer swoop in the summer, hoping to reunite manager Mauricio Pochettino with two former charges – Jay Rodriguez and Schneiderlin.

However, the Saints turned down a bid for both players and despite Schneiderlin’s protests, both stayed at the club over the summer.

Rodriguez is still recovering from  a knee injury that he picked up last season, but Schneiderlin has impressed since the start of the campaign, establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s finest midfielders.

As a result, the Daily Express is now reporting that Arsene Wenger is plotting a £25 million swoop for the 25 year old star.

Schneiderlin is reportedly unhappy with how Spurs approached the transfer, and is more interested in a move to Arsenal.

However, Southampton sit above both clubs in the league, and Schneiderlin might be tempted to see out the season.
