Manchester United are reportedly on the cusp of landing a player described as the new Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan hitman left Liverpool in the summer to move to Barcelona, where he has not been the success that many expected him to be.
Louis van Gaal, Manchester United’s manager, is known to be a fan of 18 year old wonderkid Kevin Mendez.
Mendez has been regularly compared to Suarez, which bodes well for his potential in the future.
He was highly regarded for his displays at the Under 17 World Cup last year.
Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb believe that Van Gaal is set to increase his efforts to bring the Penarol man to the Premier League in the near future.
The Old Trafford club have a good relationship with Mendez’s current side.
They have raided Penarol in the past, having signed young star Guillermo Varela from them last summer.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Mendez in the past.
