Chelsea Close In On £41.6m Deal – reports

Chelsea are on the cusp of agreeing a new deal with forward Eden Hazard, extending his deal with the club until 2019.

The Blues would hand the Belgian international a huge £200,000 to extend his stay with the club into the foreseeable future.

Should Hazard stay at the club until 2019, that deal would net him a staggering £41.6 million in wages.

Hazard’s existing deal runs until 2017, but there are fears about interest from Paris Saint Germain and Real Madrid.

PSG made their interest in Hazard formal in the summer, making two bids, both of which were turned down by the west London club.

This means that the Stamford Bridge club are keen to tie him down to the club into the future and give him an incentive to stay.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho has confirmed to the press that the club are close to agreeing a deal with the player.

Three months of talk seem to have worked for Chelsea, who will undoubtedly see Hazard as an integral figure as they try to win the Premier League.

Mourinho said: “There are no problems. It will happen soon, but I’m not worried because they are almost there.

“He is not worried about ‘almost’. The club knows that ‘almost’ will become ‘done’, no problem.”
