Arsenal Line Up £20m Move For Elegant Young Midfielder – reports

Arsenal are pondering a possible £20 million move for German international Christoph Kramer, should their move for Real Madrid star Sami Khedira fall through, as reported by the Daily Star.

Reports in Spain suggest that the Gunners are still pursuing a move for the Real star, despite having chased him to no avail.

The likes of Chelsea and Manchester United are also believed to be chasing Kramer’s international compatriot, which means there is no guarantee Arsenal would be able to capture him.

Real manager Carlo Ancelotti has also insisted that Khedira is incredibly keen to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the club and player need to agree a new contract soon.

Kramer is therefore Arsenal’s preferred alternative to Khedira.

The young star is on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach from Bayer Leverkusen, as part of a two-year deal.

He has been in exceptional form, and as a result, Wenger is lining up a £20 million bid for the player when he becomes available in the summer.

Kramer is also open to a move out of Germany.

He said: “That [moving abroad] has always interested me. I would not be afraid.

“I want to find out what my limit is and I always strive for the very best.”
