Arsenal are set to make a stunning move for Everton star James McCarthy in January, according to the Daily Mirror.
The injury suffered by Jack Wilshere this week means that Arsene Wenger has reassessed his transfer targets going into the January transfer window, and they have somewhat moved away from the idea of capturing Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira.
The club have, however, been interested in the long term in McCarthy, and were even interested in purchasing him before he made his £13 million switch to Everton from Wigan.
This could mean that they will finally make a move for him in January, bringing in a long term target.
Everton would definitely not be keen to see McCarthy leave either, even if the player would be interested in making the move from Merseyside to London.
As a result, the Goodison Park club are likely to slap on a significantly higher price tag than the amount they paid for the 24 year old.
In other words, there’s no story here at all.
