Man Utd Set To Sign Liverpool Targeted Winger In Swap Deal – reports

Manchester United are set to make the surprise signing of Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri in January by accepting a move from the German side for their summer signing Ander Herrera, as reported by the Daily Star.

Shaqiri has been heavily targeted by the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal since the summer months, but it now seems as though he will move on to their divisional rivals.

Bayern boss Pep Guardiola is, according to reports, incredibly keen to add Ander Herrera to his squad.

Shaqiri has failed to lock down a starting position in the side since his move from Basel, and this situation does not seem like changing anytime soon.

Herrera only moved to Man Utd from Athletic Bilbao in the summer, costing the Old Trafford club £30 million, but he has made only five appearances since August.

Speculation now suggests Man Utd will be willing to accept a bid of £7 million plus Shaqiri for the player.

  1. A couple weeks ago i treated this story as paper crap. However, i must admit, i am now starting to get a bit curious. Over the past few day’s the “Herrera for Shaqiri” swap link has grown stronger and many other papers have started to report it. There’s an old say “no smoke without fire” could this deal really be on? If so what do fellow United fans make off it? I personally would not like to swap Herrera because i believe he is talented and deserves a chance!

  2. What a bizarre decision by LVG. Maybe he want to coach Bayern back and think his time at Man Utd is not long that’s why he want to swap a winger with a Central Midfield.
