Liverpool Chase £40m Star In January – reports

Liverpool are set to challenge Premier League rivals Manchester City and Arsenal in the race for Real Madrid’s elegant midfield Isco in January, as reported by the Daily Express.

Both Liverpool and Arsenal chased the playmaker during the summer months, but Carlo Ancelotti was not willing to see the talented star depart from the Santiago Bernabeu.

However, fresh reports suggest that both Brendan Rodgers and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger still think they can bag Isco in January, and are set to compete with City over the player.

City have put together a huge £40 million bid for the Spain international, with the hope that he can improve their side, which has struggled to match Chelsea this season.

City might be at an advantage compared to the other Premier League sides, as their current manager Manuel Pellegrini worked closely with Isco during their time together at Malaga, when the Real man first came to prominence.

Arsenal and Liverpool will not give up, however, and continue to chase the player.

  1. Rodgers has no chance of attracting top stars. He is floundering and will be replaced by a top manager in the summer. Rafa is the man!

  2. Rodgers is the right man for liverpool and he needs to be given time to remove liverpool out of this crisis they are facing this season because he is a hardworking man and that what us fans and liverpool as a team wants since we all wants to see properous liverpool we used to know and Rodgers can do that and has ability to save liverpool.
