Arsenal Chase Behemoth Striker In January – reports

Arsenal are set to make a stunning move for Atletico Madrid striker Mario Mandzukic in January, despite the fact that the player only joined the Spanish side in the summer, as reported by the Daily Express.

This comes as a result of the fact that Atletico are set to chase Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi, and could do with the fundsĀ from selling Mandzukic to capture the talented young striker.

Mandzukic first made the switch to Atletico having been replaced by Robert Lewandowski at Bayern Munich.

He has failed to live up to the billing since joining Diego Simeone’s side and has struggled to replace Diego Costa, who moved to Chelsea.

As a result, Arsenal could make a move to bring him in in the winter window, with the hope that he can recapture his stunning form at Bayern.

That said, the Croatian striker is not particularly keen to leave Atletico, meaning it could still be a tough task for Arsenal to bring him in.
