£47m Price Tag Slapped On Key Man Utd Target – reports

Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels has been priced at £47 million by the Bundesliga side, as reported by the Manchester Evening News.

Manchester United therefore know how much it would cost them to sign a player who has repeatedly been identified as a key target of theirs, with the hopes that Hummels could fix their shattered defence in January.

Their preferred central defenders, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Jonny Evans, have all suffered significant injuries since the start of the season, and as a result, Louis van Gaal’s side have struggled terribly in defence, leaking goal after goal.

Hummels is considered to be one of the most talented defenders plying his trade in European football today, and would be a great addition for the Old Trafford side.

Now knowing how much Hummels would cost them, Man Utd could put together a more serious bid for the player in the January transfer window.

  1. I don’t understand why manutd left Vidic to leave without finding his replacement! It is now clear that Vidic is irreplaceable and if manutd will want to finish on top, then top central defender must be bought at whichever cost. Hummel must be bought plz LVG make arangement
