Serie A Sides To Swoop For Spurs’ £30m Star – reports

Tottenham Hotspur could see rejuvenated star Erik Lamela depart in the January transfer window, with a host of clubs battling to take him back to Serie A, as reported by the Sunday People.

Lamela has struggled since joining Spurs last summer.
Andres Villas Boas brought him in from Roma for a significant fee, but he found opportunities hard to come by and struggled heavily to adapt to the pace of the British game.
He also suffered a series of injuries shortly before the new year last season and then struggled for any chances to impress under now former boss Tim Sherwood, who took over from Villas Boas.
Mauricio Pochettino sought to integrate him more heavily at the start of the season, but Lamela has still only performed exceptionally in spots since the season kicked off.
Now it seems his fiuture at the north London side is unsure, with a handful of clubs from Italy, where he played for Roma, looking to bring him back to Serie A.
These include Juventus, Roma and Inter Milan, who could all tempt Spurs into moving on their big money misfit.

  1. He’s one of the few at Spurs that is starting to show his real potential (or Real potential, as Madrid are probably waiting patiently like vultures to pounce on us ….Spurs being their ‘feeder’ club).
In all seriousness there are probably 10 that need to be shipped out before we even consider a bid for him ..and even then it needs to be the amount we paid for him .. minimum . I wouldn’t have said that last season. However, I look at Lamela now and he could really be part of the future we crave. He has undoubted talent, and remember that it took Bale a lot longer to even get picked for Spurs’ first team, let alone become a game changer, and then world beater.
