Champions Line Up £25m Move For Man Utd Maestro – reports

Atletico Madrid are reportedly lining up Manchester United misfit Juan Mata as their top January transfer target, as reported by the Daily Express.

Sources in Spain suggest that the fact that the former Chelsea player has been made available by manager Louis van Gaal has made Atletico boss Diego Simeone incredibly excited, and as a a result, the Argentinian manager is going to press his club to push forward with a bid for the player during the winter window.

While both Valencia and Juventus are also thought to be keen on a move for the talented Spaniard, they may struggle to match Atletico’s intended bid of around £25 million.

Furthermore, Mata is said to be disinterested in returning to Valencia, meaning that Atletico are the comfortable favourites to sign him.

This could give the La Liga champions a huge boost going into the second half of the season, capturing a star who has been undoubtedly underused by Van Gaal since his arrival.

  1. Give us Koke and we would then consider selling Mata. United should not sell their assets to clubs like Bayern, Arsenal and Dortmand. After all we sold Kagawa back to Dortmand on the cheap and they have done a stinker on us when we wanted Lewandownski, Reus and Hummels. Arsenal did the same when we wanted Vermaelen and we still some how sold them Welbeck when they were desperate for a striker after Giroud’s injury. And Van Gaal may well live to regret that especially if Arsenal secure 4th place ahead of us. I would also never sell to Bayern after the Tonu Kroos saga!
