PL Rivals Consider Final Bid For £14m Rated Liverpool Star – reports

Sunderland are considering a final bid for Liverpool forward Fabio Borini, and will decide this week whether to make another move during the winter window, as reported by the Daily Star.

Gus Poyet, Sunderland’s manager, is holding discussions with the club’s director of football Lee Congerton during the international break to discuss who they should make moves for.

Poyet is particularly keen to make a move for at least one new defender, but is also thinking about making another bid for Borini.

The north east club made a £14 million bid for the striker in the summer, which Liverpool accepted.

However, Borini himself turned the bid down, hoping to establish himself on a regular basis at Liverpool, who he joined only two seasons ago.

Sunderland made another bid, but Borini snubbed the move again, and then went on the record, saying he wanted to prove himself at Liverpool.

He has been given some opportunities to impress since the season began.
