Liverpool Enter Race For Arsenal Targeted £30m Ace – reports

Liverpool have entered the battle to sign the Arsenal targeted striker Jackson Martinez, as reported by the Daily Star.

The talented striker is said to be rated at £30 million, and Brendan Rodgers has apparently identified him as the ideal option to fix his struggling front line.

Summer signings Mario Balotelli and Rickie Lambert have both struggled to settle, and have failed to score with any sort of regularity since joining the Reds.

Martinez has impressed in recent years for Porto, but the 28 year old now wants another challenge, and wants a move to the Premier League as a result.

That will put Rodgers in direct competition with Arsene Wenger, however, who also sees Martinez as an option to improve his striking options.

However, with Daniel Sturridge soon set to return for the Merseyside club, it could yet be the case that Liverpool do not need any more strikers in January.
