Euro Giants Confirm Interest In Wonderkid Targeted By Man Utd & Chelsea

Ajax manager Frank de Boer has confirmed his club’s interest in Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard, as reported by Norwegian newspaper VG.

In a wide-ranging interview with the paper, De Boer outlined his reasoning behind why Odegaard would be best served by making the switch to Amsterdam rather than one of the other many clubs said to be interested in his signature at the current moment in time.

Among those clubs said to be interested in bringing in Odegaard are Premier League duo Manchester United and Chelsea, as are Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Real have even invited Odegaard to their training ground, Valdebebas, for the second time, showing the extent to which they are interested in him.

However, Ajax might have the punch on the other sides, with Odegaard agreeing to train with them again.

De Boer, in outlining why this would be a good idea, said: “If he should choose, he should choose Ajax. Here, a player like him will get the chance.

“If he chooses somewhere else, like England, he will not get many opportunities.

“With us he can have a go at the first team.”

Odegaard, 15 years old, currently plays for Stromsgodset IF.
