Arsenal Given Gigantic BOOST In Move For £10m Defender

Arsenal have been handed huge encouragement in their chase for Basel defender Fabian Schar, after the defender suggested that he was keen to depart the Swiss side in the future to move to a top side, as reported by the Daily Express.

The 22 year old internationally capped Swiss defender has been regularly tied to a possible switch to the Emirates Stadium, but other sides have also been sniffing around the player, suggesting that he is likely to make a move in the future.

Schar has been given a £10 million price tag by Basel in the past, and he has now suggested that he is open to a move to the Premier League, the Bundesliga, or one of the best clubs in Serie A, like Inter, AC Milan or Juventus.

He told Blick: “Basel are open to negotiations, but at this moment I have decided that I want to concentrate on my performances.

“I went through a difficult period and it wasn’t the right time to discuss my renewal. I don’t want to be worrying about that now.

“My dream remains to have an experience abroad. I’ve always said that if the opportunity presented itself, I would take it, obviously in agreement with Basel.

“I need a team with important prospects. I’d like the Bundesliga, Premier League or top Italian clubs like Inter, Milan and Juventus. I couldn’t say no.

“I want to hear all my options and consider them carefully. There was some contact in the summer, but nothing serious.”

Arsenal could therefore be ideally placed to make a move for the player in January, should they choose to follow up their interest.

  1. Why don’t we just spend some proper money on a top class defender look at the last two Swiss defenders we had ,couldn’t get one half good defender out of both of them
