£25m Midfield Maestro Close To Arsenal Switch After Lowering Wage Demands – reports

Arsenal look increasingly close to capturing Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, with the World Cup winner having reportedly lowered his wage demands in an attempt to push through the switch, as reported by fichajes.net.

Khedira has looked ever more likely to move away from Real in the near future, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season and no indication that there is any chance of agreeing a new deal with the Champions League winners.

The German international looked likely to move to Arsenal in the summer, but a move failed to be completed over his significant wage demands.

However, it now seems as though Khedira is willing to accept a lesser salary, around £80,000, to push through a move to the Premier League.

Arsenal could therefore push through a move for the player, with a deal with Real possible in January.

The Gunners would likely have to pay around £25 million to sign him.

  1. You had me right up to the point you quoted 25 million.
25 million for a player with 6 months left on his contract?????
8-12 million tops… And then only because we need him so badly, and he’s lowering his demands.

  2. Q1. Why would he drop his wage demands? – any club taking him on will save a bundle on a transfer fee if they wait until the summer, or still save a load if they buy him in January (could get him for no more than £10m). Therefore, he can demand a higher wage and still not cost the club any more over 5 years.
Q2. Why only £80k per week? – Podolski is on £100k a week (I know, £100 feckin’ k a week!). You can get £80k per week playing for the filthy scumbag Spuds!

This article is just pure fabrication!

  3. Yep, absolute rubbish. If he was willing to spend half the season on the sidelines, he’d be willing to spend the remainder until a club gives him a big contract instead of paying 10-12m for him. No way any club is paying 25m for a squad player with a few months on their contract, when a pre-contract agreement can be made in January.

  4. Sami Khedira you are wellcome. But i think he is not enough to solve our problem we stil also look for center back in such a way that, when kosielnly or metasacker was injured we will not reliyed with only chambers as their back up. We have to looks one else were especially German playmaker matts Hummels.
