Tottenham are set to do battle with Liverpool for Birmingham City’s young winger Demarai Gray, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
The talented young wide player is attracting particular interest from Spurs, but a move from them would be complicated by a prior agreement with Liverpool for the starlet.
The likes of Arsenal and Manchester City are also thought to be scouting the tricky midfielder, but Spurs are known to be leading the race.
However, Liverpool have a clause that would allow them to get the first option on the player, and have the right to match any bid that is accepted for the player.
This “matching rights deal” came as part of the deal which saw them send Jordan Ibe to Birmingham on loan last season.
Gray is valued at £2 million by the midlands club, and has 18 months left on his current contract.
Birmingham aren’t keen to lose him, however, and rejected a £500,000 bid from Crystal Palace in the past.
