Liverpool Join Europe-Wide Battle For 17 Year Old Portuguese Wonderkid – reports

Liverpool have joined Juventus and a series of Spanish clubs in the battle for Portuguese wonderkid Ruben Neves, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Neves has impressed considerably, despite making only ten first team appearances for Porto in his career, and has a whole host of elite sides watching him as a result.

The Reds are one of those sides, with Brendan Rodgers having sent club scouts to watch Neves on three separate occasions.

Italian giants Juventus are also thought to be interested in the midfielder, with teams also keen on getting Neves to make the short trip over the border between Portugal and Spain.

Neves has impressed to the extent that he has been compared to Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets in the short time that he has been playing.

In his ten appearances for Porto, Neves has scored once.

He also captained his country during the Under 17 European Championship, and has scored for the Under 21 side.
