Leeds Utd’s 2-Goal Hero Couldn’t Pass Up His Whites Move

Leeds United striker Mirco Antenucci has revealed that he could not pass up the opportunity to join the Whites in the summer, as reported in an interview with Tuttomercato.

He said: “Leeds was an opportunity that only comes once.”

Antenucci has settled quickly at Elland Road, scoring two goals in only five appearances for the Yorkshire club.

His arrival from Ternana towards the end of the window came after a great season with the Serie B side.

Antenucci scored 19 goals in 40 games for Ternana, despite the fact that they were one of the weaker sides in the division.

Without his incredible rate in front of the net, they would have likely not avoided relegation, which they did by finishing 16th.

He was eventually appointed captain of the club, but shortly after Ternana made his move permanent, Leeds swooped.

An inauspicious pair of games against Watford and Birmingham City was later followed by important goals in the clashes against Bournemouth and Huddersfield Town, both of which Leeds won.
