Liverpool Plot Move For Elegant £2.4M Starlet – reports

Liverpool are plotting a move for Belenenses starlet Fabio Sturgeon, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

The Anfield club are keen on the midfielder, but could face competition from Benfica, who are thought to hold an interest in the player.

The Reds will get a boost from the fact that Sturgeon would prefer a move to the Premier League, should he leave Belenenses in the near future.

It would be something of a homecoming for Sturgeon, who is eligible to play for England through his English father.

Liverpool have been tracking the 20 year old closely, and have watched him play in the top flight of Portuguese football several times already this season.

The youngster has been training with the first team since the age of 17, and has gone on to make 24 appearances for his team, including five this campaign.

Brendan Rodgers has recruited from Portugal previously, signing youngster Tiago Ilori from there last summer.
