Liverpool have emerged as surprise favourites to sign MK Dons wonderkid Dele Alli, despite significant long term interest from Premier League rivals Spurs and Arsenal, as reported by the Daily Express.
The Anfield club are expected to push through a £9 million move for the player in the coming weeks, ahead of an expected agreement prior to the January transfer window.
Manager Brendan Rodgers has made his capture a priority, and is planning to move quickly to stop Spurs from signing him, with the White Hart Lane having also been in touch with the Milton Keynes side about a transfer.
Man Utd are also thought to have watched Alli closely, but it now seems as though Merseyside is his most likely destination.
This will come as a boost to the 18 year old, who is a boyhood Liverpool fan.
As part of any agreement with MK Dons, the deal would see Alli loaned back to his current side until the end of the season.
