Chelsea have emerged as the shock favourites to sign Manchester United target Dani Alves, with the club intending to turn to their Brazilian trio of Ramires, Willian and Oscar to secure the Barcelona star’s signature, as reported by the Daily Express.
The world class right back is out of contract at the end of the current campaign, and Barcelona are not particularly keen to lose the player on a free transfer.
Barca boss Luis Enrique is therefore looking to cash in on the defender in January, in order to make up for the significant spending spree that the Nou Camp club had in the summer.
Alves has been a stalwart in the side since his move from Sevilla, but now finds a series of alternatives, in the form of Douglas and Martin Montoya, ahead of him in the pecking order.
This means that the player is keen to move on, and with Chelsea interested, Alves is particularly keen to link up with the Stamford Bridge club’s Brazilian boys.
