Liverpool are eyeing up former Barcelona starlet Keita Balde Diao, who has grown frustrated at his lack of first team action since joining Lazio, and is now willing to depart the Serie A club in the near future, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
This has put Liverpool on alert, given their interest in the player.
Diao began his career with Barcelona, but left them to join Lazio under the belief that he would receive more first team football.
Liverpool targeted him in the summer, with the hope of bringing him in to boost their striking options, but Lazio refused to sell one of their more talented young prospects.
Diao is particularly unhappy at the fact that he has not yet started a game for Lazio this season.
This has lowered his asking price somewhat – while Lazio demanded £24 million for the player in the summer, they are now willing to sell him on for only £15 million.
