Liverpool are thought to be on the lookout for a defensive midfield addition, and have cast their eyes upon Belgian wonderkid Youri Tielemans, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
They have been scouting him as a result, with Brendan Rodgers sending representatives to Anderlecht this week to analyse the 17 year old star.
The youngster became Belgium’s youngest ever representative in Europe’s elite competition in October last season.
Given Steven Gerrard’s struggles in the deeper midfield role that he has occupied since last season, Tielemans’ emergence is causing something of a stir at Liverpool.
They will not find the route to signing the youngster easy, however, with Borussia Dortmund believed to have had a £4.5 million bid for the player rejected during the summer.
Bayern Munich, Dortmund’s national rivals, are also thought to be keen on the player.
As a result, Rodgers is now pondering whether he should make a move for the highly talented starlet.
