Man Utd To Make £52M January Move For Midfield Star – reports

Manchester United are reportedly ready to push forward their chase for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, with the club intending to make a staggering £52 million bid for the Chilean international, as reported by the Daily Star.

Reports suggest that the club’s hierarchy have not given up on the repeatedly targeted midfielder, despite having chased him all summer to no avail.

Despite their series of signings, Man Utd clearly still see Vidal as an ideal solution to aiding their squad.

After bringing in the likes of Radamel Falcao, Daley Blind and Angel Di Maria, Louis van Gaal is now keen to improve his midfield, and supposedly still sees Vidal and Roma’s Kevin Strootman as good potential targets.

However, they face a tough task in tempting Vidal into joining them, with the midfielder having recently revealed his happiness to stay with the Italian giants.

He also said that his agent never discussed a move to Manchester with him this summer.

He said: “The truth is I was relaxed and calm this summer, focusing only on my knee, I never once asked my agent or Juventus if something was happening.

“I have a pact with my agent: if there is something concrete, then he alerts me. He did not alert me.

“I don’t know exactly what happened during the summer, but I doubt it was anything truly important, otherwise he would’ve warned me.”
