Liverpool Blow In Chase For 25-Year-Old Wing Wizard – reports

Liverpool have been dealt a blow in their chase for Dnipro’s Yevhen Konoplyanka, with Italian side Roma having entered the fray for the Ukrainian wing wizard, as reported by the Daily Star.

Roma have been buoyed in recent years financially by the investment of an American tycoon, who has aided their side considerably.

This has seen them make a series of high profile acquisitions over the last two summers, including former Arsenal star Gervinho and Chelsea legend Ashley Cole.

The squad has also, increasingly, put together performances to justify the outlay, with former Lille manager Rudi Garcia leading the club to a second place finish in Serie A last season.

Konoplyanka is thought to be interested in a move to Italy, having previously turned down moves to the Premier League, and this could come as a big blow to Liverpool.

The Anfield club have been keeping an eye on the player for a long time, and would be disappointed to see another side pip them to his signing.
