PL Rival Brute Denies Interest In £15M Switch To Arsenal Or Man Utd

Newcastle United midfielder Cheick Tiote has denied any interest in making a switch away from St. James’ Park, having claimed that he was misquoted in various press sources about his demand to leave the north east club, as reported by the Daily Express.

Quotes purporting to come from the Ivorian midfielder circulated earlier this week, with the suggestion that the strong midfield warrior could make a move to the likes of Arsenal or Man Utd as a result.

Both clubs are previously known to have expressed an interest in the player in recent seasons, with Arsene Wenger thought to be a particular fan.

However, Tiote has moved quickly to deny the quotes, suggesting that they are not accurate.

He did, however, confirm that there had been interest in the summer, and that it had made things temporarily difficult.

Newcastle face Swansea in the Premier League this season, with manager Alan Pardew thought to be fighting for his continued employment.
