Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey has compared new signing Danny Welbeck, who scored a hat trick against Galatasaray in the Champions League on Tuesday night, to Gunners legend Thierry Henry, as reported by the Daily Star
The midfielder was struck by an injury in the club’s north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, and missed out on his side’s second game in the group stage of the Champions League.
Having only scored one so far for his new club, Welbeck was in blistering form on Tuesday.
One of the main criticisms of Welbeck prior to the clash with the Turkish side was about his finishing, with many believing him not to be clinical enough.
He belied those critics with his finishing on Tuesday, bagging three times to earn the Gunners a valuable point.
Ramsey said: “Welbeck has everything to make himself an Arsenal legend.
“He has pace, strength and finishing.
“He put in a great performance on Wednesday night. It was the first hat-trick of his career and that will be important for him. He can tick that off and set his sights on getting more goals.”
Arsenal face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday, with the north London side set to meet former star Cesc Fabregas in that clash.
