Liverpool Line Up £22M January Swap Move For Hot Shot – reports

Liverpool are said to be lining up a £22 million move for Gonzalo Higuain in January, with the Reds thought to be worried about Daniel Sturridge’s ability to maintain fitness over a long period of time, as reported by Caught Offside.

The Napoli striker has emerged as a target for the Anfield club in recent weeks, with Brendan Rodgers thought to be a fan of the Argentina international.

Higuain is also believed to be unsettled at Napoli, with the club’s inability to qualify for the Champions League, having lost in the qualifying stages, a particular point of consternation for the star.

There is also a belief that the club are required to sell some of their more valuable players to balance the books after the failed campaign.

The Reds are also set to offer Lucas Leiva, who Rafa Benitez is known to admire, in an attempt to push through the deal.

  1. To lose Lucas but retain the creaking Gerrard as a DM is madness. Rodgers is being exposed as the fraud he is – all white teeth and sliming pills with no managerial success.
