Arsenal Boss Insists £32M Star’s Injury Worry Is Nothing

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted that Alexis Sanchez’s injury worry after last night’s game against Galatasaray is nothing, with the Chilean international having been pictured with ice strapped to his ankle after being substituted, as reported by the Daily Star.

The wing wizard played exceptionally for the north London side yesterday, but a shocking tackle by Felipe Melo saw him withdrawn as a precaution ahead of Sunday’s clash with Chelsea.

The Galatasaray defender was only booked for the tackle, with many surprised that the challenge did not merit a straight red card, due to the violent nature of it.

As a result, Sanchez was later pictured with ice strapped to his ankle while sat on the bench, but the Arsenal manager has moved to assuage fears over one of his star players, and believes that Sanchez should definitely be fit for the Chelsea game.

He said: “It could have been a red. I’ll have to see it again.

“It looked from where I was that it was a red.

“I took Alexis off to be a bit more solid defensively once we were down to 10 men.

“Unfortunately, in my life I haven’t met many players who are happy to come off.”

Danny Welbeck secured the win with a hat trick, with Sanchez also scoring.
