Revealed: Boss Did Not Approve £59.7M Man Utd Mega Buy

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has been left significantly unhappy, having seen his club’s senior figures sell Angel Di Maria to Manchester United without his approval, as reported by the Daily Express.

The midfield maestro moved to the Old Trafford club towards the end of the transfer window for a record breaking fee of £59.7 million, and has done exceptionally well in his first four games for his new side, scoring twice and setting up a further two goals for his teammates.

Di Maria did not initially have any interest in leaving Real, with the Argentina international having performed exceptionally as Los Blancos won the tenth European Cup in their history, but summer signings Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez threatened his position in the first team.

However, there have been suggestions that Ancelotti was never particularly keen to sell Di Maria, as confirmed by Luis Fernandez, who previously managed PSG, the other side who expressed significant interest in him this summer.

He said: “Ancelotti was not happy at all that [Di Maria] left Madrid and even less so when another his key players [Xabi Alonso] left as well.”
