£55M Arsenal Mega Target Reportedly ‘Sad’ At Current Club

Former Paris Saint Germain star Jerome Alonzo has suggested that Uruguay international Edinson Cavani is unhappy at the French giants, opening up the possibility of him making a huge switch to Arsenal in the near future, as reported by the Daily Star.

The striker signed for the Parisian side last summer for a huge £55 million fee from Napoli, but has never looked entirely settled during his time, failing to replicate his previously dynamic form.

This is partly as a result of his role in the team, which regularly sees him shifted out wide to accommodate Zlatan Ibrahimovic through the middle.

With Ibrahimovic absent last night, Cavani was given the opportunity to play up front, but Alonso feels his display suggests that the player is still unhappy at the club.

Alonso said: “We no longer recognize Cavani. He looks sad, his eyes no longer sparkle.

“With Cavani before, Paris can score a fourth goal late in the game. But his game is stereotyped.”

As a result, Arsenal are thought to be leading the chase for his signature, having targeted him in the summer as a possible attacking option.
