Man Utd Star Set For Shock Comeback In Everton Tie – reports

Manchester United defender Phil Jones is set to hand the Old Trafford club a huge boost ahead of their clash against Everton this weekend, with the England international surprisingly set to be available, as reported by the Daily Star.

The former Blackburn Rovers star has been injured since suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with England.

He was forced to withdraw early from the national team’s clash with Switzerland, their opening tie of the Euro 2016 qualifiers.

With defensive issues mounting, Dutch boss Louis van Gaal was forced to turn to Northern Irishman Paddy McNair against West Ham.

That was McNair’s first ever professional game at any level, and laid bare the extent to which Man Utd have been struggling in their defensive ranks.

Jones’s return would therefore provide a significant boost to Van Gaal, with the 22 year old having been one of the more impressive aspects of Man Utd’s defence thus far this season.

The Old Trafford club have struggled to keep goals out this season, with Leicester City putting five past them prior to their game against West Ham.
