Arsenal Agree £16M Deal With International Star – reports

Arsenal have agreed a new two year contract extension with striking star Olivier Giroud, as reported by the Daily Express.

The French international forward is currently injured, and is recuperating from surgery to fix a broken ankle.

The 27 year old suffered the injury during the away clash at Everton, which Arsenal drew 2-2 after coming back from two goals behind.

Giroud is set to be out of action until the New Year, although the player is thought to be making good progress with his injury.

Even so, the news about his new contract will provide a boost to the club and the squad.

Arsenal are expected to announce the deal in the next few weeks.

The agreement will tie Giroud to the club until 2018, a two year extension on his current deal.

It will also see him earn an increased wage of £80,000 weekly.

This works out at over £16 million for the length of the contract.
