Liverpool Plan Swoop To Beat Man Utd To Midfield Sensation – reports

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is apparently looking to take advantage of Napoli’s indifferent start to the new Serie A season by making a January move for midfield maestro Marek Hamsik, as reported by the Daily Express.

The former Reds manager Rafael Benitez has found himself under increasing pressure after a poor start to the new campaign has seen Napoli grab only seven points from five games.

The Italian side have also crashed out of the Champions League, losing in the play off stages, meaning that their top stars might be tempted into moves in order to play at the highest level of the European game.

It is for this reason that Liverpool are now tempted into making a move for the highly talented star, although he has recently admitted that he is not particularly keen on a move currently.

Manchester United have also previously been interested in the Slovakian international.

He did, however, refuse to rule out a possible move away in the future.

He said: “It is possible that I can stay at Napoli for my entire career, I am happy here but in football you never know.

“As long as I am happy and I feel important I will stay here because I have no reason to change.

“Each day I hear from the fans talk of the Scudetto – we have to try at all costs, but no-one will know if we can succeed – we have to wait.”
