Liverpool are set to do battle with Chelsea in order to sign Marseille’s winger Andre Ayew, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
Ayew is undoubtedly set to leave the French club at the end of the season, with his deal with them set to expire.
His future could even be decided as soon as January, with the Ghanaian international able to agree a deal with another club during the winter window, preparing him for a move away from France.
Marseille have put together a patch of good form under new boss Marcelo Bielsa, and they are one of the early leaders in Ligue 1.
As a result, and with the knowledge that they could yet achieve this season, the French side are not keen to lose him, and are trying to get him to sign a new contract.
However, with both Liverpool and Chelsea now said to be interested in Ayew, he could yet move.
