Chelsea star Andre Schurrle has denied any interest in a switch away from Stamford Bridge, despite failing to secure a starting berth since the start of the new season, as reported by the Daily Mirror.
He was roundly criticised by pundits on Sky Sports for losing James Milner as Chelsea conceded the equaliser last weekend.
The German international has dampened other side’s hopes of signing him this winter by declaring his long term commitment to the Blues.
One side who were thought to be interested in the World Cup winner was La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, who went as far as to openly reveal their interest.
It was thought that the Spanish side were particularly impressed by Schurrle’s attitude and application, despite never truly being first choice under Jose Mourinho since his move.
However, Schurrle has openly spoken about his lack of interest in a switch.
He said: “Mourinho has given me this feeling that I would be a big part of the team. He plans with me and he wants me in this team and he wants to play me.
“That’s why I want to stay at this club. Everything here is good for me. I have the pressure to perform, I have the pressure to do well in training.
“I have the great fans that all support me here and so there was no question for me that I would leave this club in the summer.
“I just want to take the chances I get, improve my game, improve myself and we’ll see what happens.”
