Liverpool Wait On PL Approval For Move For Stunning Star

Liverpool will need to wait for Premier League approval to see whether they can sign former Barcelona star Victor Valdes, as reported by the Daily Star.

Valdes is a free agent after leaving the Camp Nou at the end of last season, although he has not yet found a club to join.

Despite agreeing a deal with AS Monaco prior to his departure, this move was cancelled because of a cruciate knee ligament tear that he suffered in March.

While Valdes is not yet fully fit, Liverpool have expressed an interest in signing him, with current first choice Simon Mignolet struggling for form.

With only Brad Jones in reserve, Brendan Rodgers is keen on Valdes, who would offer a high quality alternative to the Belgian international goalkeeper.

However, his registration would require Premier League approval.

In order to change a squad prior to the winter window, league chiefs have to approve a special application.

Liverpool’s squad has only 19 senior players, so they have space for Valdes, but they still require approval.
