Mata To Go As Man Utd Line Up Swap Deal For £24m Defensive Star – reports

Manchester United are ready to tempt Atletico Madrid into sanctioning the departure of defender Miranda in January by including former record breaking signing Juan Mata in a deal for the star, as reported by the Daily Express.

The Old Trafford club have no recognised first team central defenders available to them going into this weekend’s tie with West Ham, and it is no surprise that they are looking for reinforcements in that area going into the winter window.

While Michael Carrick is said to be an option for the role, with boss Louis van Gaal’s style complementing him as a defender, it would be a surprise to see the club not add a new defender in January.

Reports suggest Miranda is keen on a move to the Premier League, with Man Utd a possible destination.

While Atletico refuse to drop their £24 million asking price for the 30 year old star, they are interested in signing Juan Mata, and Man Utd could use him as a tool to push through the transfer.
