Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are set to face off in the race for MK Dons’ young midfielder Dele Alli, as reported by the Daily Express.
Reports are suggesting that both Mauricio Pochettino and Brendan Rodgers have been impressed by the 18 year old, and they both intend to make a move for him next summer, assuming he is available for transfer.
Pochettino has a great record for developing young talent, as shown by his time at both Southampton and during his spell at Espanyol, where he developed that reputation.
His time at the south coast club saw Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez all progress considerably as footballers.
Rodgers, on the other hand, has given the likes of Raheem Sterling the chance to shine at Anfield, and would be a good manager for another young prospect.
While Alli has recently signed a new contract with the Milton Keynes club, this was more of an attempt to protect his value, and there is little expectation at the club that he will stay past next summer.
Alli was one of several players to star as his side beat Man Utd 4-0.
