Liverpool have confirmed their eleven for their League Cup clash with Middlesbrough tonight, as reported by the club’s official Twitter feed.
The Reds have gone through a rough patch recently.
A win against Ludogorets in the Champions League, which was still not a particularly fluid display, came in the middle of two defeats in the Premier League.
A 1-0 loss against Aston Villa at Anfield was something of a shock result, although Brendan Rodgers’s troops have struggled against them at home in recent years.
However, their 3-1 loss against West Ham at the Boleyn Ground saw them lack any sort of consistency in either attack or defence, and there are now doubts about the quality of the squad going forward.
With Rodgers looking to build a team capable of playing the same attractive football that his side put together last season, it’s understandable that he has turned to the likes of Adam Lallana and Lazar Markovic to face Middlesbrough tonight, in the quest for a result.
The line up is as follows:
Manquillo, Toure, Sakho, Enrique;
Lucas, Rossiter, Lallana;
Sterling, Lambert, Markovic.
