30-Year-Old Leeds Goalscoring Sensation: The Team Comes First

Leeds United’s goalscoring sensation Mirco Antenucci has said that he was delighted to score yesterday, but that it is more important that the team does well, as said in an interview by Adam Pope on BBC Radio Leeds following the match yesterday.

Antenucci scored his second goal in a week against local rivals Huddersfield Town, as the Whites romped to a 3-0 win in the West Yorkshire derby.

This followed a great display against Bournemouth in mid week, which saw Antenucci wrap up the victory by finishing well from a well worked counter attack.

However, Antenucci was quick to point out that while scoring is good, it is more important that the team does well.

He said: “I am very happy for the win today.

“It’s important to score, but it’s very important for the team.

“First the team, and if I score, I am happy.”

Leeds are expected to appoint Serbian manager Darko Milanic today as head coach.

This comes after caretaker boss Neil Redfearn led the club exceptionally during his four games in charge. The Elland Road club emerged from his spell in charge undefeated, with three wins in four games.
