Liverpool Scout 32-Year-Old Star To Replace Questionable First Choice – reports

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has tried to convince current first choice goalkeeper Simon Mignolet to improve his displays by being a more aggressive goalkeeper, amidst the belief that the club are scouting former Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes in order to provide more serious competition to their current incumbent.

The 32 year old goalkeeper has been pinpointed as an ideal player for that position, especially due to his significant experience at the top level of football, as reported by the Daily Star.

The Spain international keeper suffered a significant injury towards the end of last season, before letting his contract with his club run down.

A mooted move to AS Monaco was scuppered by his injury, however, and he has found himself entering the new season without a club.

Liverpool are one of many sides who have taken an interest in the player, and that could have an issue for the current first choice.

Rodgers said: “I think Simon is a bit laid back. The key thing is to make sure you are on the front foot and aggressive.”

Mignolet conceded two questionable goals in the first ten minutes of Liverpool’s clash with West Ham.
