25-Year-Old Ex-Man Utd Star Delighted To Leave “Difficult” Club

Manchester United’s former star Shinji Kagawa has revealed that he is delighted to leave the Old Trafford club, having had what he saw as a difficult year in Manchester, and bemoaned a football club where he saw a lot being missing, as reported by the Daily Star.

The Japanese international midfielder moved back to Borussia Dortmund on deadline day, after two seasons in which he failed to settle or establish himself in the first team at Man Utd.

Widely regarded as an exceptionally talented player, Kagawa was seen by many as underused when he was at Old Trafford, having not appeared on a regular basis or in his favourite position.

In fact, Kagawa’s failure to settle has rankled luminaries as important to the side as Alex Ferguson, who revealed recently to Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp that he feels as though it is a great shame that he never did better with Kagawa.

Kagawa was happy to leave, though, and said: “My decision was clear, I wanted to return to Borussia Dortmund and only to Borussia Dortmund.

“I want to achieve success with this club again, and with no other.

“Only facts matter in football, stats, goals, assists, titles, and a lot was missing in this regard.

“That was probably why they no longer included me in their plans.

“Everybody knows that my second year at Manchester United was particularly difficult.

“The manager did not really count on me, and the team was also on a bad run.

“That means I am all the more delighted to be back. My heart had remained at Borussia Dortmund anyway.”
