Wenger Woe: 29-Year-Old Arsenal Sensation Faces Fateful Friday

Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy faces a big decision tomorrow, with the £8 million signing finding out whether he will require surgery on the ligaments that he damaged during the club’s clash with Manchester City at the weekend, as reported by the Daily Star.

Debuchy moved to Arsenal this summer from Newcastle United, and had impressed during the football he had played thus far this season.

However, the clash with the reigning Premier League champions saw him suffer a horrible injury, one which already threatened to rule him out for a few months of the still young season.

With defensive options at a minimum, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger must now be incredibly fearful that the player will require surgery and face an even longer lay off, one which could have huge implications for the successes of the north London club’s season.

Debuchy on Facebook: “No fracture but one broken ligament… I have to wait until Friday in order to know if I must have surgery.”

Youngster Hector Bellerin started in Debuchy’s place in the 2-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday.
