30-Year-Old Liverpool Star Could Make Sensational Continental Switch – reports

Liverpool defender Glen Johnson is a reported target for Italian side Roma, with the capital city club interested in bringing him in to join compatriot Ashley Cole at the Stadio Olimpico, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

Johnson’s contract with the Anfield club expires at the end of the season, and rather than seeing him depart on a free transfer, Liverpool could let him go for around £2 million in January, a cut price fee for a player who has commanded considerable sums in the past.

Roma signed Ashley Cole this summer, bringing the experienced left back in from Chelsea on a free transfer, and with Johnson sharing an agent with the former Arsenal man, Roma are considering another move for an English full back.

Johnson himself is said to be interested in a move abroad, especially given the fact that no Premier League side would be willing to match the huge £110,000 a week wage he currently earns at Liverpool.
