Van Gaal Demands Man Utd Sign 25-Year-Old Elegant Defender – reports

Louis van Gaal has told the Manchester United hierarchy that they must add Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels to their side ahead of the January transfer window, as reported by the Daily Star.

Hummels has established himself as one of the best defenders in Europe in recent years, and he played a key role in Germany’s World Cup triumph this summer, aiding them as they stormed to the championship in Brazil.

He was also made captain of Dortmund prior to the start of the new season, in an attempt to ensure his loyalty to the Bundesliga side.

However, Van Gaal remains very keen on getting the talented defender, and has sat down with the Man Utd leadership, telling them to make an offer that Dortmund simply won’t be able to turn down for the defender.

He will not come cheap by any stretch of the imagination, with the player refusing to have a release clause written into his deal, unlike many other Dortmund stars.
