28-Year-Old Man Utd Targeted Dynamo Happy To Stay At Club

Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin has declared his happiness to stay at the Italian giants, despite being consistently linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, as reported by the Daily Express.

The Colombian international midfielder was frequently said to be on the cusp of a bid from Man Utd, but the transfer window has now shut and there is no chance that the midfielder will be able to move until the January window opens.

He said: “The people who needed to do something to keep me here did so – and by that I mean everyone, from the club to the fans.

“Now it’s up to me to prove my worth. They helped me and now I have to help myself.

“What’s in the past is in the past. We have a new group of players now and a coach who is really hungry and determined – he shows us players that constantly.

“I’m here and ready to show put my skills to use on the pitch, just as he does it off the pitch.”

The Old Trafford club have improved significantly elsewhere, with additions also taking place in the centre of midfield, making a future move for Guarin less likely. They added Ander Herrera and Angel Di Maria for a significant combined fee this summer.

Despite the additions, Man Utd have struggled thus far this season. Louis van Gaal has not won a single competitive fixture since taking over from David Moyes, and his side fell to a humbling 4-0 loss against MK Dons in the second round of the League Cup.
